To travel to the Republic of Moldova, participants of the OIV International Congress 2025 must ensure they have a valid passport and, if required, an entry visa.
Citizens of the European Union and other eligible countries can enter the Republic of Moldova without a visa for a period of up to 90 days within 180 days. A passport or national identity card (for EU citizens) is required for travel.
Foreign citizens who do not require visa to enter the Republic of Moldova:
– The following member states of the European Union – Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czechia, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Holland, Hungary, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden;
– Canada, Georgia, Holy See, Iceland, Japan, Principality of Andorra, Principality of Monaco, Principality of Liechtenstein, Norway, San Marino, State of Israel, Swiss Confederation, USA, Georgia;
– CIS member states: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.
– Albania, Bosnia and Hertzegovina, Brasil, Croatia, South Korea, Macedonia, Muntenegru, Peru, Serbia, Turkey, Vietnam.
Citizens of other countries must obtain a C/AD type visa in advance (including South Africa, India, Australia, and New Zealand, as well as those listed at this link).
However, citizens of these countries do not require a visa if they hold a residence permit, a visa (excluding transit visas), or a diplomatic accreditation card issued by a European Union member state, a Schengen Agreement member state, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the United States of America, or Canada. These individuals may travel to the Republic of Moldova for the validity period of these documents, not exceeding 90 days within any 180-day period, meaning the last 180-day period preceding each day of stay must be taken into account.
Citizens of Algeria, Morocco, and Lebanon (as well as those listed under States whose nationals require invitations to issuance of entry visa to the Republic of Moldova at this link) are required to obtain a C/AD type visa for entry, exit, and transit through the territory of the Republic of Moldova, based on an official invitation.
Exceptions from the official invitation procedure: Foreign nationals who hold a residence permit or a valid visa (excluding transit visas) issued by one of the European Union member states, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the United States of America, Canada, or other countries approved by the Government, as well as Schengen Agreement member states, are exempt from the official invitation requirement.
SHORT STAY VISA REQUIREMENTS AND SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS (TYPE C/AD) it is issued to third-state citizens who are to travel to the Republic of Moldova subject to justifying their presence on the territory of the Republic of Moldova.
1) Travel document (passport) issued in the past 10 years, valid for at least 3 months beyond the intended date of leaving the territory of the Republic of Moldova (in the case of minors – additionally the birth certificate and the passport of the legal representative);
2) A color digital photo 35mm x 45mm;
3) The invitation issued by the General Inspectorate for Migration, if required, or the residence permit or valid visa (except a transit visa) issued by a member state of the European Union or by a state part to the Schengen Agreement, by the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, by the United States of America or by Canada;
4) The invitation from a natural person confirming the purpose of the applicant if the foreigner does not fall under the provisions of point 3.
5) Proof of means of subsistence (the bank statement issued no longer than 10 days before the submission and minimum coverage of 30 euro/day of staying, but not less than 300 EUR, for a stay shorter than 10 days) or, if applicable, the commitment of maintenance and accommodation filled and signed by a person from the Republic of Moldova (download);
6) Reservation at a tourist accommodation unit or, if applicable, the commitment of maintenance and accommodation filled and signed by a person from the Republic of Moldova (download). Exception: foreigners who obtain visas based in the invitation issued by the General Inspectorate for Migration;
7) Reservation of a round-trip ticket valid up to the destination or the driving license, the green card insurance and the registration documents of the vehicle, if traveling by car;
8) Travel medical insurance valid throughout the territory of the Republic of Moldova, which fully covers the expected period of stay and all expenses that repatriation for medical reasons, emergency medical treatments and/or emergency hospitalization or death may require, but not less than 30,000 euros;
9) Consular fee – 40 euro (plus additional fees, if applicable).
